IN DEVELOPMENT

Current projects in development include:
Immaculate by Sarah Connolly
Izzy and Hannah are best friends tied together by their passion for volleyball and deep commitment to their Catholic faith. When Izzy starts missing her period, she has a vision of the angel Gabriel, who tells her that God has chosen her for a new Immaculate Conception and that she will bring the second coming of Christ to Earth. As they grapple with this revelation, Izzy and Hannah must confront whether it will bring them closer together or drive them apart.

The Memory Centre by Evan Brodsky
If you could take a pill, and become a new person, would you do it?
Sebastian and Nora meet at The Memory Centre, where a new drug is being administered. As they undergo this experimental treatment, Sebastian and Nora must face what brought them to this point in order to find out who they will become. Sebastian and Nora bond over the relationships that they’ve let define themselves in the ultimate letting go: forgetting. The Memory Centre destroys the past in order for people on the brink to have a future.

Patchworks NYC is committed to developing new plays from inception to production. As part of our development process, we host a Living Room Reading Series in which new works are read. This started exactly how it sounds, in a living room, with a group of actors. Through this reading series, we garner feedback from actors, directors, and listeners and open the space for the writer to ask questions. Once the next draft of the play is ready, the writer returns to the living room to do the process again!
